Interesting and varied graduation assignment

“At HedoN, I had a really great time during my five-month graduation project. When I approached the company for a graduation assignment, I was able to discuss with them what kind of project suited me best and what they needed at the time. This resulted in an interesting and varied assignment from which I learned a lot. I was able to carry out this assignment in a company where everyone showed great interest in the work you do and was willing to help. I found this very positive because it allowed me to quickly get to know everyone. This really helped with my assignment, as it was very broad, involving analog and digital electronics and some programming. The company has a wealth of knowledge that is gladly shared with others. For these reasons, I found HedoN a great company to complete my graduation project.”

A lot of freedom throughout the entire development process during your internship

“My name is Chico Boot, and I had the opportunity to do a five-month internship at HedoN in Delft. During my internship, I designed and realized a pindriver controller. The pindriver controller is part of a test system that HedoN is developing. I was able to go through the entire development process from start to finish. I started by working together with HedoN to define the requirements for the pindriver controller and ultimately created a working prototype. Going through the entire development process was a very valuable learning experience. Throughout the process, I was given a lot of freedom, which is characteristic of HedoN. Furthermore, there is a wealth of knowledge available within HedoN, and the people who possess this knowledge are always willing to help. I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed my internship at HedoN.”

During my time at HedoN, I could always turn to colleagues with questions

“Hello, my name is Xander Kottelaar, I’m 23 years old and I was a student at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, where I studied Electrical Engineering. I deliberately say ‘was’ because I recently completed my graduation internship at HedoN Electronic Developments with a grade of 8. Here, like many other interns and graduates, I worked on a project called ‘hydraulic simulator’. The idea is to simulate a hydraulic motor using various specific modules and a controller. With this ‘simulator’ of the hydraulic motor, you can test the functionalities of the Hydraulic Motor Controller designed by HedoN. My contribution to this project included designing and realizing a module capable of simultaneously simulating four different quadrature encoders. The speed and rotation direction of these encoders can be set via Ethernet by the controller. During my work on the project, I learned a lot, not only about software but also about hardware. For example, I wrote software for Ethernet communication via broadcast and designed hardware to generate the quadrature encoder signal. During my graduation period, I could always approach my colleagues with questions. It didn’t matter if the question was related to the project or something else, although you do have to take the initiative yourself. The employees at HedoN are open and work together as a team to bring a project to a good result. I really enjoyed my time here and I’m glad I was able to do my graduation internship at HedoN.”
