Collaboration with Schaeffler
Schaeffler Smart Maintenance Tools / Bega Special Tools is a renowned manufacturer and distributor of industrial maintenance tools. Under the BETEX® brand, the company develops and produces induction heaters designed for the safe and efficient assembly and disassembly of bearings and drive components. These tools are used worldwide across various industries, including wind energy, railways, mining, and steel production. They serve both production and maintenance departments within MRO and OEM companies and are engineered to operate under diverse and sometimes extreme conditions.
HedoN, Bega’s technology partner since 2001, was tasked with developing the digital electronics and control software for Bega’s new generation of LF induction heaters used for bearing assembly, as well as a series of MF induction heaters for disassembly and assembly. This latest generation of MF induction heaters can even heat materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium.
Since August 2021, Bega Special Tools has been part of Schaeffler. In September 2024, the Bega Special Tools name was retired, and Schaeffler Smart Maintenance Tools became the official trade name. The focus remains unchanged: minimizing machine downtime and enhancing workplace safety.

BETEX® LF induction heaters
These low-frequency induction heaters provide powerful and reliable heating solutions for heavy industrial applications such as wind energy, railways, aviation, mining, and the steel industry. Operating within a frequency range of 50 to 60 Hz and power outputs from 3 kVA up to 150 kVA, they efficiently heat objects ranging from 0.1 kg to over 1,000 kg. Thanks to their interactive interface and robust technology, these heaters are ideal for use in harsh environments, delivering optimal performance and reliability.
BETEX® MF induction heaters
The medium-frequency induction heaters from Schaeffler Smart Maintenance Tools are ideal for production and maintenance applications in the same industries as the low-frequency models. They operate within a medium-frequency range of 10 kHz to 25 kHz and offer a self-adjusting power output of up to 44 kW. Thanks to the interactive user interface, heating modes can be easily selected, allowing efficient and precise heating of objects weighing over 1,000 kg, including stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum.
